Kofta

This is the basic kofta mix … kofta is a well known middle eastern dish ..it can be baked or grilled … it has alot of variations … but this is the basic one … it is basically minced meat mixed with onion parsely and spices … there r alot of dishes that are made using kofta which i will be showing on later posts… to make it u need:

– 2 lb minced meat (about 1 kg)

–  1/4 cup onion, chopped (1 onion)

– 2 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 cup parsely, chopped

– 1 ts all spice

– salt and pepper, to taste

all ingredients

Here is all the main ingredients …. minced meat, parsely, onion and garlic ….

add all ingredients

Add everything to the minced meat .. including the spices and salt

mix everythin together

Mix it well using ur hands .. thats the best utensil 😛 … mix until its all well blended …

And thats it … u now have the kofta mix … for here u can make alot of different dishs .. i will be posting one soon …

    Does it matter what type of meat you use? Lamb, beef, pork?

    Well mainly in the middle east we use lamb … but i tried it before with beef and its not that bad either …. u can choose which ever u prefare 🙂

    So, it has to be minced, not ground? Would ground work?

    I think ground and minced meat is the same thing … but an american and britsh thing … but if u mean the lamb or beef … then u can use which ever u like … but we mainly used lamb in the middle east….and i tried it with beef and it was good too … hope this helps 🙂

    oo – thanks for the recipe. I miss buying Kofta from Spinney’s! We lived in Dubai for 2 years and are now in Holland. I really miss all the fabulous food in the ME. Thanks for sharing all your delicious looking recipes.
