Chocolate Cake

I tried alot of chocolate cakes … but to be honest i know got to like two … is my mama’s chocoalte cake .. which is rich dense and delecious … and this one ..which is a nice rich moist chocolate cake … perfect for birthdays . so here is a step by step photo for the recipe … you will need:

– 2/3 cup cocoa powder

– 2/3 cup boiling water

– 2 ts vanilla extract

– 2 cups cake flour (if u dont have it then use all purpose but for every cup remove 2 tb flour)

– 1 ts baking soda

– 1/2 ts salt

– 12 tb (6 oz.) butter

– 1 cup caster sugar

– 1 cup light brown sugar

– 3 eggs

– 1 cup sour cream

Lets start ….

Preheat oven to 180°C. Prepare two 9-inch cake pans by placing parchment paper at the bottom..

In a bowl … sift flour, baking soda and salt .. set aside… 

Ingredients

 Prepare remaining ingridients …

mixing cocoa, boiling water, and vanilla

 First …in a small bowl …  mix the cocoa powder.. boiling water and vanila … mix until combined and set aside to cool down 

add sugars and butter

 In a standup mixer … place butter and sugars(caster and brown)

 mix until fluffy

Mix until light and fluffy …

add eggs

Add eggs one at a time and mix after each addition..

add cocoa mixture and mix

Add the cocoa mixture and mix …

add a little flour

Now start alternating flour and sour cream … start and end with flour … and dont over mix …

So flour first …

add little sour cream

Then sour cream … and so on ….

mix until done

Until u add the last flour … and the cake is done ….

pour into pans

Pour into prepared pans …. and bake for 30 to 35 mins …. until tester inserted comes out clean …

done

Cool for 10 mins … then remove from the pans ….

All done … now u got a rich, moist, delicious chocolate cake … Enjoy 🙂
